The traits of writing are six key elements that make up quality writing. Teachers develop a clear understanding of each trait of writing and the skills that support them. Our schools use a consistent and professional language for writing, and can recognise the traits within their students’ work.
Schools upload their NAPLAN data into the Scriibi curriculum aligned continuum.
We then guide leaders on how they can unpack their NAPLAN data, and view the skills through the curriculum. By the end of the session, leaders feel equipped to plan for individual student and cohort needs, as well as set achievable whole school goals for writing.
Mentor texts provide real-world examples of quality writing, helping students develop key skills while fostering a love for reading and writing. By imitating effective techniques, students strengthen their writing abilities and see the relevance of strong written communication skills. In this workshop teachers also learn to recognise quality mentor texts.
